About Us

Firefly Property Management was founded after eight years of managing investment portfolios for other owners, including more than 2,200 homes at one company and 500 at another. That experience provided firsthand insight into what property owners need to succeed and what residents deserve to feel at home.

As a licensed Managing Broker in Illinois, Texas, and Virginia, and a rental property owner, Firefly understands property management from every perspective. After experiencing every stage of the investment journey, one truth became clear: regardless of the market, the foundation of exceptional property management is people and the relationships built with them.

Why Firefly Exists

Firefly Property Management was created to raise the standard for the industry. Too often, owners are treated like account numbers and residents like placeholders. We believe property management can, and should, do both well: maximize the long-term value of an owner's investment while providing residents with the respect, communication, and care they deserve.

Owning rental property is about more than maintaining buildings. It's about creating positive experiences, protecting investments, and building trust that lasts.

Our Mission

Our mission is to bring clarity, care, and exceptional property management to every home we serve, creating lasting trust for owners, residents, employees, and the communities we call home.

Our Vision

Our vision is to become Central Illinois' most trusted residential property management company by leading with professionalism, preparation, humility, compassion, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Our Values

Everything we do is guided by five core principles:

  • Integrity – We do the right thing, even when no one is watching.
  • Clarity – We communicate proactively, provide honest advice, and eliminate uncertainty whenever possible.
  • Care – We value people over properties, treating every owner, resident, and team member with respect.
  • Excellence – We pursue the highest standards in every interaction and every detail.
  • Stewardship – We protect what matters, treating every property as if it were our own.

Our Promise

At Firefly, we don't just solve problems. We help prevent them. Like a firefly that provides just enough light to guide the way, our role is to bring clarity, reduce uncertainty, and provide steady guidance when it matters most.

Every home deserves thoughtful stewardship. Every resident deserves respect. Every owner deserves honest communication. That's the standard we hold ourselves to every day, one conversation, one repair, and one relationship at a time.

Designated Managing Broker/Owner

I’m born and raised right here in Bloomington-Normal. This is home. After graduating Knox College with a double major in economics and music, I spent ten years in Texas (2015-2025), but I recently moved back to be closer to family, and I’m genuinely glad to be back where I belong.

I’m a licensed Managing Broker in Illinois, Texas, and Virginia. Many people in this industry didn't set out to become a property manager. I actually stumbled into it through one messy security deposit close-out as a tenant. Within a few months I was working at that same company, and I’ve been all-in ever since.

Over the last eight-plus years I’ve managed large portfolios, first 2,200 single-family homes, then another 500 homes, for a collective total of over 1,500 landlords. I’ve walked through about 20 homes a week, handled 40-60+ lease renewals a month, signed 25+ leases a week, personally screened more than 2,000 applications, and closed out roughly 700 security deposits per year. I’ve owned the full turnover process: making sure make-readies are done right, catching maintenance issues early, troubleshooting work orders myself whenever I can, and keeping unnecessary vendors off the property so owners don’t get nickel-and-dimed.

What all that experience really taught me is simple: owners care most about clear communication, problems getting prevented instead of just fixed, and someone who stays calm and finds real solutions. I work hard to protect your investment while still treating the people who live in the home with respect. I honestly believe we can maximize value for owners while treating residents like people who call the place home. That’s the standard I built Firefly Property Management around.

Outside of work I’m a music director at church, conducting choirs, playing pipe organ and piano, and sometimes sitting in as a jazz drummer. I also serve on the Board of Directors for the Presbyterian Association of Musicians. Those roles keep me grounded in discipline, leadership, and community, the same things I bring to every property I look after.

If you’re looking for a property manager who’s lived every side of this business and will treat your investment like it actually matters, I’d love to sit down and talk. Please feel free to reach out anytime!
